Persian Marzipan, Toot
A perfect way to ring in the Persian New Year!
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Confectioners Sugar
3 cups Almonds, finely ground
3 tablespoons Rosewater
1 tablespoon Orange Flower Water
2 tablespoons Pistachio Nuts, slivered
1 teaspoon Cardamom
Mix ground almonds, cardamom and confectioners sugar in a large bowl. Slowly blend in rosewater and orange flower water, stirring constantly, to make a dough.
Take small spoonfuls of dough, and shape into small mulberries. Roll each in granulated sugar, and attach a sliver of pistachio nut as a stem, as shown in picture.
Store in an airtight container.
